Resolutions

I’ve thought about this whole “resolutions” thing for a long time now. I don’t want to resolve to do something only to be sadly disappointed with myself when I can’t do it. The resolutions I’ve seen around the web are silly. Lose weight. Get more money. Buy a better computer. Isn’t their lives more than being thin, having a state-of-the-art computer and being rich? I feel bad for people whose lives revolve around things like that. I’d like to be surrounded by the beauty of the things that really matter.

I don’t make resolutions. I never have. I’ve spent my time setting goals and trying to see them through. I don’t know anyone who’s ever stuck to their resolutions. It’s almost like they’re made just so they can be broken. I’ve never liked the concept of breaking something I say I’ll do so I just stay away from that type of thing.
