All Over

I was thinking about taking down the Christmas tree tonight. It’s over. We’ve had our Christmas, we’ve had our fun. Now it’s time to pack it all up and go back to playing with our presents until the New Year, then prepare to go back to school. I actually had to work to day, and I volunteered to work yesterday for an hour, tending to the patients’ lunch. I really volunteered so I could autoclave my nephew’s clothes so they can be given away. There’s no sense in hanging onto his things any longer than we should. I also autoclaved some of his stuffed animals we’re giving away. When he died, my nephew had Hep B and C. I’d hate to give it to someone via his old things.

I noticed that around 5am this morning, they stopped playing the continuous Christmas music. I’m secretly relieved. The neighbors have also turned off their lights. It was a pleasant change at first, then it was starting to become a little much.

I need to get my butt in gear and actually do something. I’ve spent the last hour or so sitting here, reminiscing about days gone by. I need to quit that.
