In The End

I thought I should let everyone know that, due to circumstances that I cannot control, I will probably be losing internet access after or on Sunday. I would also like to say that this is beyond Dennis’ control as well.

Right now, I don’t know when or if I can get back on the net, so I would really appreciate it if things died down right now. No more expecting me to answer novel-sized emails or typing up every tiny aspect of my life, because I’m just not going to have the time. Right now, I’ve made plans to go to the library every day (can’t take my wifi card away!) and do my internet update time, but I don’t know how long that could be since I hightly doubt that I will have access to a full tank of gas or enough gas to get me to a library on a daily basis.

So what now?

There goes my access to software, music, movies, blogging, unlimited information, selling things on eBay (and I just renewed all my listings last night), not to mention my friends who live long distance and I speak to them strictly over Sticky. No more software updates. I only hope The Light Brigade finishes downloading before Sunday, when our ISP tries to bill our credit card and it’s declined. I’ve been downloading it since the 17th, and it’s not done yet. I have about 200 MB left to download.

So what happened?

I loaned my mom my credit card to buy some movies off of Amazon.com, and she canceled my credit card this morning. She told me when I went to go pick it up. She claimed she “cried” over it, then went on one of her soapboxes about how the internet is the most useless thing that has ever been invented. I guess citizens ban radio was pretty useful for gathering random information by recluses of the social world or good for finding old movies and buying them or downloading thousands of songs that people had forgotten, making one’s own DVDs. In reality, I can’t name all the ways the internet and computers have enhanced my mother’s life, but she chooses to kick the technology. It’s the same way with my step dad and cell phones. He hates any phone, but when he’s stranded or when an emergency happens, guess what? He says he wishes he had a cell phone. But I’m off the subject. Right now, I don’t know when I can get my card turned back on because I owe a balance and because Capital One wanted to shut us off months ago.

I’ll do what I can, but there are no promises. In the mean time, you can always text message me, and be sure and send me your phone number, so we can converse.

Off topic: Anyone else watching Bones and notice that even though Brennan had a MacBook/MacBook Pro, which comes with a built-in webcam, but there’s clearly a webcam attached to the screen? Maybe I know waaaaay too much about Apple computers!
