Stupid Lies

I’m one of the many people who has had her fair share of bad neighbors. Take today for instance. I was in the middle of burning DVDs and I seen some kids in our front lawn peeking in the windows of my car. Curious, I went outside and asked them what they were doing. I wasn’t mean. I wasn’t screaming. I wasn’t mad. I was genuinely curious as to whether or not they seen something in there that I should be aware of, like a poison snake, a wasps’ nest, or a bomb, or if they just wanted to see what was in my car. Maybe a neighborhood cat was trapped in there?
The instant the kids seen me, they scattered. There were five of them, and each one ran in a different direction. Oh well. I checked my car. Nothing unusual. I went back inside, and within a few minutes, a man was knocking at the door. I answered it. The man wanted to know why I threatened to shoot his kids if they walked past my house again.
I laughed in his face.
I know they’re just elementary school kids, but don’t they realise how stupid their lies are? Does anyone?
The man decided I was crazy when I didn’t take him seriously. Why would I? I had witnesses, the next door neighbor see what happened, and she spoke up when she heard the man accusing me of threatening to kill his kids for walking past my house. He’s going to have fun with those kids. Especially if he keeps believing their outrageous lies.

one thing i don’t like is lying. i have been living with a lying 12 year old for almost a year now and it is really wearing on me. i can understand typical teenage lies, but the ones that are coming out of her mouth are very disturbing. and she insistently says she didn’t say any of it. that all the other people are the ones that are lying. i just hope that i am strong enough for this as it is really draining and starting to hurt my relationship with her father.
    have a great day!

This kind of a kids’ prank isn’t funny and could have led to a more serious confrontation. It’s a good thing you had witnesses.
