Organised Thanksgiving
Before I begin the usual entry, let me first say that I upgraded to MT5 tonight, and it was well worth the headaches and drama. The interface is so much better than what I’ve been using, and it doesn’t even seem like the wishy-washy CGI blog program that I remember using in 2002. I am so hooked on this. ![]()
I made out the Thanksgiving schedule. As of 5pm tonight, my kitchen is cleaned and off limits for all cooking. At 9pm on Wednesday night, I’m going to put the turkey in the oven to start slow-cooking it. Then at 9am on Thanksgiving day, I will put the pies on. Everything should be ready by 7pm on Thanksgiving evening. Am I a good planner or what? I don’t know why or how things seem to get away from me all the time, when I can get this much planning done.
I have a tooth ache. It’s not that bad, but it’s nagging me in the left side of my jaw. Upper left side. It hurts nearly all the time. I have a bad feeling I’m going to have to just go to the dentist for the first time in my entire life. I think I may wait until after my final, so I don’t have the excuse of being on painkillers when I’m sitting in class. The pain throbs, but I think I can handle it for a few more weeks. It’s nothing like the back and leg pain I had a couple of months ago where I would cry and scream from the pain.
I’m also trying (and failing!) to teach Darren to properly take care of his laundry. So far this year, he’s gotten himself dressed in the mornings and undressed at night. He piles his used clothes on the floor. Today, I bought him a pop up hamper and showed him that the used clothes go in the hamper. When he got ready for bed tonight, I made sure the hamper was in the spot where he was tossing his used clothes. He’s started a new pile on the opposite side of his room. *sigh* I can’t win for losing. :/
