When I cleaned the boys’ cage today, I noticed that Baxter was thin, cold, anemic, and weak. He’s dying. He’s been a member of this family longer than any other pet rat, and it’s a shame that he’s going to die. Cause of death? A spider bite on his face that became infected. If you believe in God or pray, please pray that he doesn’t suffer long. He and his cage-mate were Christmas presents to my daughter the last Christmas she was in the family. I’m sure Seth will die shortly after his cage mate, since they’ve lived together for a year and a half.

I cleaned his wound, but I was too late. The infection seems to have gotten the better of him, and he’s slowly slipping away. I only hope that he does not suffer for long.

How sad. I know how sweet pet rats can be. My daughter has had them for years. Everytime one dies, she swears she won’t get another because it hurts so much when they die. I’ll say a prayer for your sweetie. Take care and God bless.
