Closing Time

I have three domains. All three of them are blogging domains. That is waaaaay too much. I can barely keep one updated, never mind three. It’s wonderful that there exists hosts who will host multiple domains for people, and I am sure there are times when multiple domains are needed, but really, I can’t find a point for me to have three different domains. I could be a douche and just copy and paste my entries to each domain, but what would the point be? Wow. Three different sites with the same content. That’s really attractive! So probably next month will be the last month this site is alive. The domain expires in December, and I’m not going to renew it. I will export the entries here and import them to the domain that I am keeping. I may or may not keep the domain names, but I will not keep the hosting accounts. It’s too expensive. I haven’t even touched the blog on my other account in months. It’s all a growing up thing. I don’t have the time or patience to update several domains anymore. I like my domain names, but I don’t like keeping up with three different sites, three different places that have to be updated or they will fall prey to hackers and spam bots.

Then there’s the use of too many journals. I get confused on what I’ve posted where and I sometimes leave out important things or I post the same thing twice. That has to be annoying for my readers, and it’s not fair.

So I am slimming down my online presence. One public blog. One private journal. That’s all one really needs, right?
