The Toll So Far

Why am I so exhausted today? I couldn’t make the bed without reaching for my inhaler…twice!

Oh, right. Cancer.

It’s starting to wear on my body. That and the treatments. I ended up passing out on said bed with the ends of the sheets flipped up around me. I slept for thirty minutes, before getting up, finish making the bed, and then digging through my desk for some anti-acids because I had heartburn so badly from bending over making the bed and wrestling with the fitted sheet. It still isn’t perfect. It will flip off when we get in bed tonight. Oh well. At least the bed doesn’t stink anymore, and I can re-make it Thursday night with just a flat sheet.

Maybe it’s not just cancer that is dragging me down. I picked up a pack of cigarettes today. The Grimaldos have driven me back to smoking. I had to have three cigarettes before I could even go in the college to help them. Yes, they’re college students. Medical students. Yes, I weep for all of humanity because of them. I had to have four cigarettes after I finished the session with them. I’m surprised that I didn’t have to stop at a liquor store and buy a bottle of whiskey afterward. They.Drive.Me.Nuts. I am not volunteering to do this again. Put me in the library hooking up computers. After a while, they at least cooperate with me.

So much for that snow! It’s in the mid-70s here and the sky is clear blue with sunshine all day! I ran the air conditioner for the most part! There is a dark cloud coming in from the North and it doesn’t look too good. Either we’re going to get rain tonight or snow. The weather reports keep coming on claiming snow. A big snow storm. The biggest of the season, and we’re going to get hit hard tonight. Does that mean I don’t have to go tutor the Grimaldo twins on Thursday?? That is not even worth the money anymore. Those two are impossible to teach.

Saying I’m sorry you have cancer won’t make it better.
So, toughen up and let cancer know who’s Wonder Girl. All right?
