My fingers smell like vanilla, gingerbread, and peppermint. Care to guess what I’ve been doing? Baking! I bought some ingredients today to make cookies, gingerbread houses and candies. I’m weird, I like to make my own Christmas candies.
Before I forget, next month is the 16 days of Christmas. Why am I so giddy over this?

It is strange how various smells remind us of different things. Sometimes the various smells differ from country to country. A few years back I purchased some ginger biscuits – these were specially designed for Christmas and it claimed that they were from Germany. There were several varieties and I had several packets all slightly different. I took them into work and offered them around as it seemed like a nice change from mince pies – which nearly everyone takes in as soon as December arrives.
The biscuits were uneatable – not only were they full of ginger (which most people enjoy) they also contained so much cinnamon that the whole of the biscuit tasted like munching on a cinnamon stick …. so if nothing else it taught me a lesson – not to offer anything to anyone before I had tried it myself!
I hope that you enjoy your Christmas sweets they sound very tasty.
December 4th is National Cookie Day! I’m trying to get different blogs to post their favorite cookie recipe that day. If you don’t want to post it on your site, send it to me and I’ll put it on my site that day. I’ll also put a link back to your site. If you put a cookie recipe up let me know I’ll still give a link to your recipe.
Smells of Christmas baking…
I’m starting to get excited too.
