I am home now, and loving every bit of it. =) Well, every bit of it other than the fact that I now have to study for my final tomorrow, and that Dennis isn’t here. But other than that, everything is perfect and the way things should be. =)
The good part is I don’t have anything that requires a lot of antibiotic maintenance. Though I was sent home with two stitches, criss-crossing a small incision on my abdomen. It’s virtually painless if I don’t move! =) But other than that, I’m stuck in bed, watching the Christmas lights of the neighbors twinkle and sparkle in the distance. I’m supposed to get the stitches yanked Tuesday morning, and that’s bad because we were supposed to go to the Winter Lights Festival Monday night. I’ll try to tough it out though! =)
I do have some bad news to report back on. While I was in the hospital, there was nothing on but old re-runs of TV shows from the 1950s. I seen a Jack Benny Show re-run that had Liberace on it. Sometime between the time I seen that show and the next morning, about thirty Liberace MP3s got downloaded onto my hard drive, and then uploaded onto my phone. When I got home today, those MP3s multiplied to my other iPods. So I am now an official Liberace Addict and Junky. There’s no such thing as Liberace Junkies Anonymous, is there? =)
I was told that I probably have a viral infection in my nose (postnasal drip) and I need to have my doctor see me to be sure. I’m having trouble swallowing and I can’t take my meds properly. Not that the night nurse brought them to me last night or anything. =-p
After the doctor looks at me tomorrow, I can go home!!!!!!! This has been the longest week of my life, and I’m glad it’s over. I want to go home and have Christmas. I want to be able to go see Dennis. I want to see the little ones, and even the big, sloppy dogs. I want to go Christmas shopping and I want to wrap presents. I want to go to the Winter Lights Festival and have a small tree-trimming party.
I’m starting to spike a fever. A slight fever. 99.1ºF. Almost a whole degree above normal!! I think I need to eat something.
They’re going to keep me until Thursday, an extra day, because of a sore throat that has been labeled as a bacterial infection and the joy of having sutures is the fun side effect of staph being transfered from my throat to my abdomen and causing a nasty infection that may mean ten days of IV antibiotics. Of course every human licks their surgery sutures vigorously after surgery, don’t they? This is an expected complication for all people who have had surgery and then get a throat infection, isn’t it? =)
I got weak tonight, watching just whatever is on TV. I can’t just lay in bed and watch TV and just relax. I feel like I should be doing laundry or making lunches for tomorrow, or at the very least, going over my notes for my final on Friday. I stopped calling the nurses for assistance to the bathroom, and I’ve started unplugging my IV, holding myself together, and staggering to the bathroom on my own. The sutures pull and strain, so it hurts to get up and pee!! I asked for juice for my sore throat and it hurts to swallow!! I laid alone with my thoughts and started crying so it hurts to think!!
The WiFi here is terrible. Actually, we don’t have a WiFi. We have one ethernet plug in the room, and only one of us can be connected to the internet at a time. My roomie got mad at me last night while I was doing my drops because someone had a loud cockney accented newsreel playing at full blast. I’ve taken every precaution I can think of to stop flash files from automatically playing, and yet people still are getting around them!! *snarl* I was tuned out to my Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law episode. My poor roomie hissed at me for five minutes, and threw her water glass at me, and I still never noticed! Then she called the nurse who came in and threatened to take my laptop away. Nice lady. Really. Please, please, please don’t have noise that automatically loads and starts on your blog. Anyone who knows anything about blogging knows this is a huge no-no.
I think it’s nap time again. Hopefully, I will get better and can go home tomorrow. =)
Titles are starting to annoy me.
I’m thinking that in the next few days, since I will have limited computer use, I will probably post the same thing here and at Nuclear-Winter.nu when I am admitted to the hospital on Monday morning. I have surgery scheduled for Monday morning. Probably I will be there until Thursday. Hopefully, I will get out by Friday because that’s when my final is.
So until then, here’s hoping that I actually get to update every day, and that I recover 100%. =) I’m thinking about quitting one of the ‘blogs come March, anyway. I think we all know what one I will be quitting. =\ Or at least slowing way down with.
In other news, this site will be nine years old this month. Anyone wanna make a cake???
